About

Andrei Gosman

Solution architect, enterprise architect, cloud architect. Working across banking, shipping, utilities, and public sector. Writing here when something is worth writing about.

First IT job in 2000. The next decade went into building and running systems, close enough to the hardware to know what breaks and why. That period is the reason I distrust architecture diagrams that have never survived contact with an incident.

In 2011 the work shifted to enterprise architecture: less about any one system, more about the seams between them, and about the organisations that keep pulling those seams apart. Since 2018 the centre of gravity has been cloud architecture, mostly hybrid, mostly in regulated industries where the interesting question is never whether something can run in the cloud but whether it is allowed to, and what it costs to prove it.

The corporate work pays for the gliding. The gliding is why the corporate work stays in proportion.
